Want to get involved, have a great day’s fun and raise money for Pieta House, the self-harm and suicide prevention centre? Well then right this way.

With the recent emergence of people suffering from depression, self-harming and committing suicide, three DIT Masters students have decided to raise funds for Pieta House who do outstanding work for people in need and in preventing the above, and JOE is only too happy to support.

The cause has had a lot of retweets and interest from celebs like Sean O’Brien, Senan Connell, Paul McGrath, Aidan O’Shea, Tadhg Kennelly, Dessie Farrell, Tony O’Donoghue, Jack McCaffery and Alan Quinlan, and the more awareness generated the better.

What is Footee4PietaHouse?

THE EVENT: November 29th – Dublin City Golf Club, Ballinascorny, Tallaght, D24 –  (off Exit 12 M50)

Footee4PietaHouse is a traditional golf classic with a twist, bringing the elements of golf and football together for an enjoyable day out. It is played on a full length golf course but instead of swinging golf clubs and hitting golf balls, players kick footballs into larger holes.

The game rules are identical to golf – each hole carries a par and the aim is to get the football in to the hole on each green in as few shots as possible.

The price is €30 a man/woman and some well-known celebrities have already signed up for the cause. You can enter your team by clicking here.

Here is a promo video of what you can expect from the event.
