WATCH: Pub in Offaly had a special customer trying to gain entry on Saturday night

“Not tonight, mate.”

There are few things better than seeing a basket of food like chicken nuggets and chips come out when you’re spending an evening in the pub.

It seems that some animals also share this view, as was witnessed in Clara in Offaly on Saturday night.

A pub called Nigel’s Place had a visitor at the door, but it was never going to reach the entry requirements of the establishment. That didn’t mean it went away empty handed mouthed…

Speaking to JOE, the owner of the pub, Nigel Tobella said: “[Security] said we had a visitor, so I went down to see what they were talking about.

“I was surprised to see a fox looking up at us, but he seemed very friendly. We had a party in the pub and my staff had a basket of chips and chicken nuggets, so we threw it a chip.

“He ate it and came closer looking for more, so we gave him a nugget. Customers started coming to the club and stopped in their tracks when they saw us feeding the fox.

“Once he had eaten the food he stayed around for a few more minutes then left.”

Cheers to Nigel Tobella for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? You can get in contact with us here.
