A massive 25% of Irish people would give their partner a ‘free pass’ for one purpose alone

Free pass

This definitely won’t stir up any arguments before Valentine’s Day.

The “free pass” is a controversial topic in any relationship. A lot can go wrong when one person says Tom Hardy and the other quite fancies Claire from the office.

In a new survey by NOW TV, one in four people say they would give their partner a ‘free pass’ to shift a celebrity, with the most favoured names being Emma Watson and Jamie Dornan.

With 1,848 people polled, in total 25% of Irish couples surveyed admitted that they already have a free pass agreement with their other half, with the leading male stars on the list being Jamie Dornan at 32% and Hugh Jackman at 15%.

Meanwhile, the highest ranked female celebrities are Emma Watson (34%) and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland (16%) followed closely by Dakota Johnson (14%).

The survey found that a third of its respondents (30%) said that if they were given the chance for a consequence-free critique this Valentine’s Day, they would tell their partner that they are the most stubborn they know.

We could then assume that the other two-thirds said that this is a completely ridiculous accusation.

They did however discover that other irritating qualities highlighted by couples include flaws such as taking up too much of the bed and being extremely messy. 22% of women and 14% of men would also like to tell their partner that they are too dramatic.

After all of these free passes and arguments though, three out of four respondents (72%) said they will mark Valentine’s Day with their other half with a romantic dinner or a weekend away (27% apiece) being seen as the perfect Valentine’s gift.
