Gallery: JOE picks some Autumn/Winter wardrobe essentials from Gagliardi
JOE casts our eye over Gagliardi's effortlessly sophisticated collection for this season, and takes a look a our favourite pieces
As the old saying goes, it ain't easy being dapper. Or at least that's the old saying that we have at JOE towers. We know we make it look easy, but you do have to put some effort in to it.
In particular, we always like to look through the collections each season, and Gagliardi's Autumn/Winter range has a pretty excellent selection, from knitwear and shirts, to tailored suits that will have you looking at your best whether you're at work or at play.
This season's strongest colours are all present, from dark shades like hunter green, burgundy and wine to classic and timeless check patterns on blazers, but there are also more adventurous pieces like the red chinos, paired with a perfect grey blazer. These can still be worn at this time of year and while they are eye-catching, pairing it with something more muted on top balances it out nicely.
Gagliardi also offer plenty of accessories, and with it being colder these days we've been layering up shirts with ties and blazers. This almost instantly makes you more dapper, and you'll get no end of compliments on that front, but simplicity should be the key. Stick to colours that suit you and try not to go for vibrant patters on the jumper, and aim for strong block colours. There's also no reason that you can't add a bow tie to the wardrobe this year, and remember that you don't need to put it with anything else too loud, as it's statement enough in itself.
There are plenty of looks to choose from in this collection, but we really like the variety of patterns available in the shirts. There are checks and gingham, which can make a more formal look of blazers and slacks that bit more casual, or simply pair one with a jumper and chinos for a casual Friday at the office.
