Manhattanhenge took place on Friday night and New Yorkers were quick to start Instagramming some of the best photos you'll see all year.

Twice a year the sun aligns perfectly with the island to give a mesmerising Stonehenge effect, and crowds blocked intersections to get photos of the weather phenomenon.
