The capital gets our focus this week

The capital gets our focus this week.

The Treasure Ireland series has a look at our capital city and its surroundings.

Yet again we are indebted to the wonderful work of John Dunne Photography for providing us with the brilliant images.

A brief break in the cloud allows the dawn sun to send its golden light down across Whiterock Bay while the sea continues to trash the rocks and beach. The freshly painted handrail at Seapoint near Dún Laoghaire reach out into a calm sea as storm clouds roll in overhead.A lighthouse close to Bullock Harbour in Dalkey seems to float upon a calm sea as a hint of clouds float by overhead. The last light of the day throws its soft amber light through the heavy clouds above Howth as the viewer stands upon the slip in Sandycove.Standing upon the slipway at Sandycove looking out over the sea too Howth Head as a Ship comes into view on the right.A bubbling brooke deep in the woods of the Dublin Montains in Ireland surrounded by moss covered rocks, the hazy light from the setting sun spills through the trees in the background. As storm clouds move in overhead an natural outcroping of rocks offer some protection, as the Chimney Stacks of Poolbeg Generating Station look on impassively. Some small fishing boats are safely moored in Coliemore Harbour as the seas around Dalkey Island are swept up by a stiffening breeze and storm clouds move in overhead.Standing at night at the edge of the IFSC, Dublin cable pedestrian bridge looking back across the river Liffey with the bridge of the left. Two stones are slowly engulfed by the incoming tide knowing they must patiently wait for the next opportunity to see each other once again.Sunrise in Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland with a tree stump in the forground and tress and fields in the background.A glorious start to a new day in Howth Dublin with few clouds in the sky. What appeals to me in this image is how that warm morning light is hitting the cliff face particularly on the other edge by the lighthouse. I hope you enjoy it too.The early morning sun casts an amazing soft and warm light on the rocks in the foreground and cliffs behind at Howth in Dublin , IrelandA tranquil image taken just after a thunderstorm where the clouds are perfectly mirrored in the calmness of Dublin bay, with the chimney stacks of Poolbeg Generating Station in the background.Looking on to the Dublin city lights and the Pookbeg Chimneys from Bull Island while the tide is low after the sun has set.Dalkey Island Lighthouse stands isolated in the sea waiting to provide its guiding light to passing ships.
