Gaming fans are going crazy over the possible inclusion of a nostalgic feature in FIFA 18

This would be sweet.

It seems too good to be true though.

Gaming fans and FIFA fanatics alike will remember the beautiful game that was FIFA Street.

It was a spin-off of the FIFA series of football games and was solely based on the art of street football, which followed the same path as other EA games such as NFL Street and NBA Street.

Similar to FIFA, scoring goals was still the aim of your attack but you also gained points for doing tricks, flicks and just showing samba-soccer flair on your way to the net.

The game featured four-on-four matches and the entire aim of the game was to build a team full of skilful superstars in order to dominate the street, meaning you wanted to get a few Brazilian players on your team.

Ronaldinho was invaluable in this game.

A cult classic among FIFA players in the mid-noughties, FIFA Street gave something unique to gamers who craved a different aspect to a football match than the usual 11 v 11 game mode.

It was popular for various reasons and one of which was the similarity it had to FIFA 97’s Indoor Match Mode.

Sadly, since then we have not seen a feature like this within a FIFA game and despite the constant rumours, it’s impossible to know for sure if we will we see it in FIFA 18 either.

This tweet was posted just after 11am on Tuesday morning, claiming that FIFA 18 contained an element of FIFA Street on it.

People on social media began to lose their mind and rightly so but just as we were drooling over the prospect of this feature being added, it was taken away from us.

While some are saying that the news is true and others are saying it’s false, most believe that the footage of the so-called FIFA Street inclusion is part of Alex Hunter’s The Journey in FIFA 18 where playing in the Brazilian league is an option.

According to gamesradar, the Brazilian league is one of six new countries that Hunter can play in and when playing in that country, you start off by competing in a FIFA Street type of game.

It looks like we won’t know the actual truth until it’s released in late September.
