The story that just won't go away

The story that just won’t go away.

Just when you thought it was safe to go online again. The Garth Brooks concerts scheduled for Croke Park which were subsequently cancelled caused huge amounts of anguish for his fans all around the country.

Our airwaves, column inches and pub talk was dominated by the entire Brooks fiasco. It looked like it had died down, but not for long. Writer Fiona Looney has put together a script  called Are You There Garth? It’s Me Margaret.

29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival - General Festival Events - Day 1

The script focuses on one woman who is a massive fan of Brooks as she goes through the highs and lows that the ‘Garthgate’ saga brought upon her. Moone Boy star Deirdre O’Kane (pic above) will play the lead role and it will premiere in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin later this year.
