George Lamb’s Lashings of Style

British TV and Radio host George Lamb is not just known for being the face of Big Brother's Little Brother - he is an exceptionally stylish fellow.

TV and Radio personality George Lamb is best known as the face of Big Brother’s Little Brother – a daunting task to fill the shoes of the likes of Dermot O’Leary and Russell Brand you may imagine. Lamb, however, son of actor Larry Lamb, is holding his own.

By Laura Anne Mooney

Carving a name for himself as a handsome, down-to-earth stylish guy, the host has been setting girls and boys alike swooning since his stint began in summer 2008 with his immaculate geography teacher-meets-English gentleman image.

GQ referred to Lamb as the ambassador of grooming perfection when it announced him as the magazine’s inaugural celebrity judge for the 2010 Grooming Awards. The host is now the poster boy for shunning the hair dye, displaying his frosting locks for all to see, with some even referring to him as the UK’s answer to George Clooney- not too shabby a comparison to have.

Somehow the red slip-ons work, don’t ask us why though

This year has also seen Lamb join forces with designer Adrien Sauvage whose new menswear label released its debut collection this season. With Lamb as his muse, Sauvage has set himself the task of reinventing men’s suiting as we know it. The designer went on to name none other than Mark Ronson as his ideal client.

Lamb is exceptionally tall, but still manages to avoid looking gawky, even mastering cropped trousers. This is all down to knowing your size, being comfortable with it and dressing accordingly – which usually involves a trip to the tailors. He adds personality into tweeds and wools by injecting a dash of colour, be it in the form of a risky velvet dickie bow or a mustard sock. Lamb’s daring embrace of style is inspirational as nine times out of ten he pulls it off, and can even make a brown suit look cool. Topped off with a messy but manicured mane, this well-loved presenter is setting the foundations for a soon-to-be sartorialist institution.

Here are some key pieces to emulate Lamb’s distinctive look:

G-Star Highbury Cardigan – ASOS.com, €410.50

This is the perfect jumper coming into the autumn months. It can be dressed up and down over a small collared high button shirt. It is the perfect investment as then can be worn under your winter coat to keep you extra snug.

Barbour Kirkstone Button Through Cable Cardigan, ASOS.com, €157.50

Alternatively, if the G-Star knitwear was a little too pricey this should do the trick. Stone is a great colour for the coming Autumn/Winter palette.

Blue Stripe Curl Neck T-Shirt, – Topman, €18

Stone Cotton Carrot Chinos – Topman, €48

Topman’s chinos come in a range of colours and can be worn turned up, with boots, or just with a worn-in pair of Converse. Coloured, carrot-fit chinos are the new way forward.

Farah Vintage Waterman Knitted Panel Polo – Urban Outfitters, €24

Bright Coloured Striped Scarf – Topman, €18

Toms Canvas Grey – Office, €36.50

The Ulitmate feel good purchase, these come in nearly every colour under the sun, and with each pair bought Toms donate a pair of shoes to a child in need. One for one.
