Finally, science(ish) has proven what we always suspected, us Irish lads have the goddamn sexiest accents in the world. The entire world.
The surely reliable people at OnePoll.com asked 5,000 women worldwide what accent was deemed the sexiest and we left the Italians, French and English trailing in our smooth-talking wake.
The Italians finished second on the list, meaning we are all, technically, sexier than Andrea Pirlo, while Frankie Boyle, Andy Murray and Gordan Strachan can take heart from the fact that the Scots finish third.
The French were fourth, the Aussies (seriously) were fifth and the English finished sixth. In quotes from the polling group, carried in the Mirror, our position at the top of this very important list is overdue.
