Great news: I, Keano is returning to the Olympia for another run next year

Obviously, as we said before like, this is great news at the end of the day.

Obviously, as we said before like, this is great news at the end of the day.

It’s hard to believe, but it’s nearly ten years since I, Keano, the comedy musical based on Ireland’s now infamous experience at the 2002 World Cup, debuted to rave reviews in this country.

The musical, written by Michael Nugent, Paul Woodfull and Arthur Mathews, ran on and off for four years until 2008 and was viewed by over half a million people in the first two years of performances, including Roy Keane himself.

Considering that Roy Keane is arguably more prominent now than he has been since his playing days, MCD have decided to bring his alter ego back for a limited run at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre in March and April of next year.

Tickets from €25 including booking fee go on sale Monday 15 December at 9.00am from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and online. This is a limited run, from 25 March to 12 April 2015 in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.

Looking ahead to Ireland’s fixtures next year, we’ve a European qualifier with Poland at the Aviva on March 29, so might Martin and Roy take the lads along to see the exploits of Macartacus, Quinness, Surfia and Packie Bonnerus for a bit of amusement before the big game?

They wouldn’t regret it if they did.
