We’ll drink to this.
JOE only drinks on days that end in the letter ‘y’ so naturally we’re delighted with the most important scientific breakthrough since this.
A new study has been published in the European Heart Journal which proves that having a single pint a day is linked to a lower risk of heart failure.
Essentially this means that you have a physician’s approval to drink. Every. Single. Day.
Excuse us while we crack open a can in celebration.
Scientists have researched the health and drinking habits of almost 15,000 people over a 25-year period and found that men who had seven drinks per week are 20% less likely to experience heart failure than those who don’t drink.
Of course, binge drinking is discouraged because “when alcohol consumption goes above moderate, to 3 drinks per day or more, the risk for death increases,” says the chief researcher Dr. Solomon.
This being said, the important thing to take a way from this research is that a beer a day keeps the Grim Reaper at bay.
So, who’s coming to the bar with us?
