Rising prices, less spending money and a greater choice of venues has meant that most people are slightly more picky about their choice of watering hole, which isn’t a bad thing.
Fair play to The Sugar Club in Dublin and the organisers of the Discotekken & GirlCrew International Women’s Day though for thinking outside of the box.
We’ve a feeling that some people will be drunk in love with this idea especially all the single ladies.
On March 7th various DJ’s and bands will celebrate and pay tribute to the magnificent achievements of women around the world but that’s not all.
Our attention was peaked when we learned that clubbers can also get a photograph taken with a cardboard cut out of Beyonce & Mary Robinson.
From now on in, every night should include a photograph featuring an esteemed former Irish President. That would be irreplaceable.
Why Mary Robinson you ask? Well last summer some members of the prominent GirlCrew group decided to simultaneously change their Tinder profile pictures to Mary Robinson’s image in an effort to engage serious online conversations about climate change, current affairs, equality and human rights.
Here was JOE thinking that the former President of Ireland and prominent campaigner for women’s rights was chosen because of the time when Father Dick Byrne lost that bet in Father Ted and had to say ‘bollocks’ very loudly in front of her.
