Homelife

Not something you see every day, even at Dublin Airport.

When a picture of President Michael D Higgins casually chatting to a man with a parrot on his shoulder in Galway earlier this month, we were sure that nothing would top it in terms of the most viral Irish picture of 2017. Less than three weeks later, however, and we think that it might just have been surpassed by an image that surfaced on Sunday of what appeared to be a hare with a cigarette in its mouth at Dublin Airport. That’s right, a hare with a cigarette in its mouth, although, as it turns out, that wasn't the case at all. https://twitter.com/ach0/status/868848761954586624 The picture was posted on Twitter by Louise Acheson on her arrival at Dublin Airport on Sunday evening and quickly spread like wildfire, amassing over 1,000 retweets and well over 2,000 likes, while the hashtags included by Louise in the tweet were both trending in Dublin on Sunday night. https://twitter.com/TrendsDublin/status/868973222636769280 https://twitter.com/TrendsDublin/status/868973196636295170 On closer inspection, it would appear, thankfully, that it wasn't a cigarette in the hare's mouth, but, as later confirmed by Dublin Airport, it was an overgrown tooth. Some size of a tooth too... https://twitter.com/DublinAirport/status/869150161016168448?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet Cheers to Louise Acheson for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE?
