HEAD TO HEAD: JOE.ie vs Her.ie in the Virgin Media Night Run challenge

Carl Kinsella

So much more than just a race.

The clock is slowly ticking down towards 9.30pm on Sunday 22 May, when the mighty beasts of JOE.ie will dust down the running shoes that have been in our wardrobes since three Christmases ago and take on our sisters from Her.ie in the first ever Virgin Media Night Run in Dublin.

The rivalry between Her.ie and our own site has reached boiling point, and together we’ve decided that there is only one way to settle it – hitting the track and proving that #TeamJOE will be the first team to stumble, bumble and wheeze its sweaty, red-faced way across the finishing line.

Five of JOE’s finest and fittest (which is not actually saying all that much) runners will aim to finish Virgin Media Ireland’s 10km run before the women of Her.ie – earning an eternity of office bragging rights and a lifetime of glory.

Anyone at all is welcome to participate in the Virgin Media Night Run, and can sign up right here. We recommend dragging a friend along too – after all, a little competition never hurt anybody. Worth noting, though, that the cut-off time for the race is 80 minutes – a cut-off that we expect to push to its very limits.

Fancy getting involved?

The race is open to everyone, so why not register your details and be there on the big night to watch us beat the Her.ie girls to the finish line?

The €30 entry fee includes entry to the race, timing chip with race number, a snazzy race shirt and a jam-packed goodie bag. The deadline for entry is Wednesday 18th May.

It promises to be a very special event!

Best of luck, and we’ll see you at the starting line! #VMNightRun
