PIC: Laois Hen party up the game with weird Christmas nativity theme

JOE

How you incorporate a blow-up doll into a Christmas nativity play, we don’t know.

Girls just want to have fun and this mad bunch from Laois are heading to Carrick-on-Shannon for the weekend dressed as a nativity play?

Yup, that’s right.

Remember that little school play you’d be in at Christmas time, well these lassies have brought it to life and are touring the town of Leitrim.

Some of you were lucky enough to be Joseph or Mary while others would be a grown version of the baby Jesus while the not so lucky would an animal in Christmas plays of the past.

Well tonight men of Leitrim, if ye play your cards right, ye could be shifting one of these lovely angels or shepherds or cows…

Wait, that sounds so wrong.

Sarah Morris got in touch with JOE and told us that: “It’s Christmas morning in Mountmellick… Mary Rose Melia’s Hen party ‘The Nativity’.. Wise Men, Shepards, Angels, a donkey, a cow, Virgin Mary, Baby Jesus and a blow up doll as Joseph the groom.”

“Mary Rose was the Virgin Mary for every Nativity play in primary school and wore the same costume from junior infants to 6th class so it was an obvious theme choice for the hen party. She is marrying Welly (Colin) Dunne on September 29th. We are off to Carrick on Shannon for the weekend. Yup Mountmellick!!”

Cheers to Sarah Morris for sending this our way. Got a story for JOE? Hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102 or mail [email protected].
