Bees are important…

In case you’re unaware, we need bees.

Sure, they might be a bit annoying hovering around your face while you’re waiting for a bus, but we definitely do need them.

We won’t bore you with the scientific details, so we’ll keep it short…

According to worldbeeday.org: “The greatest contribution of bees and other pollinators is the pollination of nearly three quarters of the plants that produce 90% of the world’s food. A third of the world’s food production depends on bees, i.e. every third spoonful of food depends on pollination.”

Long story short: we need bees.

So if you ever see a bee lying around your house or your garden that isn’t looking too good, here’s exactly how you can treat them, and ensure that they are nursed back to full health.

All you need is a spoon, some slightly warm water and a bit of sugar.

Irish Weather Online posted the video on Facebook, with the caption: “A little warm water and sugar on a spoon and happy days! I noticed this guy in my house very weak, took him a few minutes to realise what was going on but eventually he took it! Amazing to be able to help!”

A small step that could go a long way for the environment.
