What a day!

After what seems like the longest winter we’ve ever had, it appears that spring has finally sprung.

Sunshine made its way back into our lives in a big way this week, as the hottest temperatures of 2018 so far have been recorded all over the country.

For the second day in a row, the highest official temperatures were recorded at Met Éireann weather stations in both Phoenix Park and Malin Head, where the recorded temperature was an impressive 18 degrees on Thursday, and a whopping 20 degrees on Wednesday.

As for the rest of the week, we’ve definitely seen its peak, but nice weather is to be expected for the coming days.

According to Met Éireann, Thursday night will be dry with long clear periods. Mist and fog will develop more widely across the south and east, inland as well as near the coast. Lowest temperatures will range 3 to 6 degrees in mainly light southwest or variable breezes.

Friday will be another largely dry day with sunny spells for many, after early mist and fog clears. Cloudy periods will occur also though, and there is the chance of light shower or two in parts of Connacht and Ulster.

Top temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees are to be expected, with the highest values expected in the east. Winds will be light and variable.

As for the weekend, expect very mild conditions for the next couple of days. Sunday will be fresher, with rather unsettled conditions into next week.
