How to clean a shower head… on the cheap

There's nothing worse then a shower head that has built up calcium deposits, so here's how to sort it out on a budget in just five minutes.

JOE

There’s nothing worse then a shower head that has built up calcium deposits, so here’s how to sort it out on a budget in just five minutes.

In order to get the most from your shower head you’d want to keep it squeaky clean, but all too often us men neglect cleaning the important areas of the bathroom. Sadly, most calcium removers cost the earth, so here’s how you can make your shower head sparkle in just five minutes. Five minutes plus overnight, that is…

What you’ll need:

Plastic bag
White vinegar
Rubber band

Step 1: Fill the bag

Your first step is to fill a small plastic bag with white vinegar. Simple as.

Step 2: Get a Rubberbandit

Your next step is to place the shower head in the bag of white vinegar. To keep the bag of vinegar in place, wrap a rubber band around it and the shower head.

Step 3: Leave it over night

Okay, so you have to leave it over night, which takes more than five minutes, but the preparation shouldn’t have taken any longer than that.

Once you’ve left it over night you can test to see if the vinegar has eroded the calcium. If the water isn’t running smoothly out of the shower head just repeat the first couple of steps. Afterwards, your shower should be running as good as new.
