If you’ve ever cheated while playing GTA Online, you’re in for a shock

Tony Cuddihy

Rockstar are cracking down on nefarious activity.

Rockstar Games are clamping down on cheating within the Grand Theft Auto Online community, and from Wednesday anyone who has earned cash in illegal ways will see the money vanish from their accounts.

If you’ve used cheats in the game, you’ll get a message that says, “We have determined that your account illegitimately gained in-game money via mods, cheats, or other actions. We’ve adjusted your account and updated your balance.”

Rockstar are taking any infractions very seriously.

If you’ve used glitches while playing the game, you’ll lose funds, and there’s the promise of more resets to come.

Under the new banning system, first offenders will see their progress reset, but if you do it a second time you’ll be out of the game for good.

Tough, but is it fair?
