Here's how knitting a very tiny hat could make a big difference to some older people...
A lot of us have tried out our fair share of new hobbies over the last year-and-a-bit, and it's a trend that plenty of us will definitely keep up post-pandemic too.
Now that the evenings are getting shorter and the good weather is (almost!) gone, we're looking for new ways to stay busy during the winter months, and we've got just the thing to keep you entertained.
The innocent Big Knit is back and they're asking you to to get involved and raise much needed funds for Age Action.
And if you're not an experienced knitter, don't worry. The innocent Big Knit is open to anyone and everyone, young or old, and it's a great reason to pick up a new hobby.
So, here's how you can get involved:
- Order yourself a FREE knit kit from springwools.com.
- Knit or crochet some tiny hats, using one of the knitting patterns here.
- Post your tiny hats to The Big Knit 2021, innocent Drinks, Fruit Towers, 2 Ballsbridge Park, Dublin 4.
It really is that simple, and the funds raised through the innocent Big Knit will help Age Action continue the quality of life for older people in Ireland.
You have until Summer 2022 to send in your woolly masterpieces, so there’s plenty of time to get those needles clacking.
And if you're new to knitting, why not ask an older knitting-lover in your life for some knitting lessons? With loneliness being so common among our older generations, innocent are encouraging young people to team up with an older person in their life and knit some tiny hats together, making it the ultimate way to support Age Action's core mission.
