One of our favourite Argentines has teamed up with Gagliardi to make sure he has style off the pitch as well as on it
We’ve always known that Javier Zanetti was a class act, and has always shown that on the field and off it. Still playing at age 40 and having come back from a potentially career-ending Achilles injury last season, you’d be hard pushed to find anyone who doesn’t think that the Argentine is one of the best to play the game, and a seriously good guy.
His style has been his greatest asset as a player, but it turns out that off the pitch he’s got a bit of flair too, after it was announced this week that he’s teaming up with Gagliardi, after he dropped by their showroom a while back.
The announcement was made as Inter Milan prepared to take on Sassuolo at the San Siro, and as guests of Javier himself, Samuel Borg of Gagliardi presented the Argentine with four made to measure formal outfits.
A delighted Javier Zanetti said: ‘I am very pleased to be working with a stylish brand like Gagliardi who offer the very best in innovative Mediterranean design and fashion and I look forward to forming a long lasting partnership with them.’
Borg added: ‘I have followed Javier’s career closely, so when we were approached to provide him with formal attire it seemed the perfect opportunity to associate the brand with an influential icon. Football has moved on tremendously in the last decade and Zanetti is not only a first-class footballer but also globally popular in markets where we too are growing our brand. The fact that Javier Zanetti plays his club football in the Gagliardi colours is an added bonus.’
JOE has been a fan of Gagliardi for a while now, and we can’t say enough about their Spring/Summer collection, so we expect to see Javier sporting a few of these looks in the near future. Maybe not on the pitch though, you wouldn’t want to get those slick threads dirty.
You can check out the full range of Gagliardi gear on their website, or head to Arnotts who stock a whole range of their threads
