And the county with the cheapest petrol in Ireland is…

Much like the state of the weather, talking about the price of petrol is something of a national pastime in this country and, excuse the inevitable pun, this infographic will only add fuel to the debate.

You’ll regularly hear of motorists who go out of their way to go to a certain filling station in the knowledge that they’ll save a few euros when filling up and thanks to this infographic from Zurich Insurance, drivers can see whether they are getting a raw deal in comparison with the rest of the counties in Ireland (counties in Northern Ireland are not included).

The price of fuel tends to fluctuate quite regularly, of course, and we can probably expect another increase when the budget comes out, but according to a survey of petrol prices in the month of August, the Texaco station in Ferrybank in Waterford has the cheapest petrol at 147.9 cents per litre, while the Texaco station in Manorhamilton in Leitrim has, or at least had, the most expensive petrol, priced at 161.9 cents per litre.

We’re not quite sure why Galway and Longford are excluded but you can find out where you can get the cheapest petrol in your own and in every other county in the infographic above; who knows, it could help you save some much-needed few quid coming up to Christmas.

Thanks to Zurich Ireland for sending this one into us
