Ireland’s newest regional airline launches big recruitment drive, with staff travel privileges

Have you got what it takes?

Ireland’s newest regional airline, Emerald Airlines, wants YOU on board – so long as you meet the relevant criteria.

Emerald Airlines is the exclusive operator of Aer Lingus Regional and is now seeking new cabin crew to join its overall team, with positions available in the airline’s Dublin and Belfast bases.

Experienced and inexperienced applicants are welcome, though those interested in applying should be passionate about “ensuring the highest standards of safety while delivering an excellent customer service experience”.

Standard enough procedure there, but applicants will also need to meet demands such as physical fitness, the ability to arrive within 60 minutes from your base while on standby duty, and being able to swim for 25 metres without aid.

Successful candidates will undergo four weeks of paid training and will ultimately be offered a “competitive base and variable salary” in addition to a company pension scheme and staff travel privileges.

The full list of essential criteria for application is as follows:

  • Over 18 years of age

  • Eligible to live and work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction (i.e. EU Passport Holder)

  • 12 months combined experience in a face-to-face customer service/sales role

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

  • Be between 5‘2″- 6‘2″ in height in order to operate at ease in Emerald’s fleet of ATR72-600s

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnights

  • You will need to provide a verifiable five-year background check

  • You will need to provide details of two contactable referees

  • You will need to be physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks

  • Ability to arrive within 60 minutes from your base when on standby duty

  • Able to swim 25 metres unaided

  • Prepared to complete a medical questionnaire and medical examination

  • Successful applicants must be available to undergo up to five weeks of continuous training
