You may have eaten in some of these places.

Be wary of anyone who tells you they're staunchly adhering to a strict diet in January. Nope, we're not having it. The lure of a pizza, Chinese, fish and chips, curry, spice bag or a burrito is far too strong. Yes, you can be good and limit your takeaway habits, but stopping altogether? Get out of it! If you're interested in trying some new places, some of the best spots in Ireland were acknowledged at the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards on Tuesday night.

Saba to Go in Rathmines, Dublin was named Ireland’s favourite takeaway at the awards, the sixth edition of the annual event.

Elsewhere, Donegal's Bamboo Court was voted the best Chinese takeaway in the country, while Rathfarnham's Bombay Pantry were also rewarded for their notable Indian cuisine. Kevin Street's Boojum also picked up an award for Best Mexican while Xian Street Food (Galway), Shapla Indian (Carlow), Bamboo Court (Donegal) and Camile Thai (Limerick) were all winners in their respective provincial categories. Macari 101, in Naas, Kildare won the prestigious award of best chipper. According to Just Eat, more than 17,000 people voted in the awards over the past few weeks; you can see all the winners below.
