Ireland’s first Real-Time City Guide using ‘human pins’ is launched

Using a team of roving 'human pins', they want you to design your own real-time city guide in Dublin.

Using a team of roving ‘human pins’, Heineken want you to design your own real-time city guide in Dublin.

Up and running since yesterday and continuing through to Sunday October 12, Dubliners can be the authors of their own real-time guide to the city. This innovative, epic, city guide will see a roving team of ‘human pins’ turn up at hotspots around the city, as chosen by Dubliners via Twitter using the hashtag #OpenYourDublin.

City dwellers will play an essential role in compiling THE definitive crowd-sourced guide to their city as part of Heineken’s ‘Cities of the World’ campaign, which encourages people to venture outside of their regular routine, unearthing some hidden gems in the process.

The tweet-prompted city guide will pull online sentiment through the hashtag #OpenYourDublin, and see a roving team of 20 Real-Time City Guide ‘human pins’ deployed to wherever social media activity determines the best bits of Dublin can be found, from the ‘Best Chicken Wings’ to the ‘Coldest Pint’.

Businesses who are ‘pinned’ will be encouraged to try to retain their title and the successful few will be rewarded with a ‘Heineken Real-Time City Guide’ accolade, and the prestige of being the peoples’ choice.
