A Dublin-born, Belfast-based doctor has found herself as Michael McIntyre’s Unexpected Star this week, as she performs to a sold-out crowd in London, without having previously known about any of it.
For those of you unaware of the comedian's stunts, each week McIntyre surprises a member of the public, who has always dreamed of performing in front of a large audience, with the chance to sing on a West End stage.
Doctor Ciara Mackey was this week's showstopper, having been nominated by her boyfriend Simon who planned the entire surprise around a romantic trip away in London.
Simon had told his girlfriend that they were staying in London's 'The Grand Hotel', which of course doesn’t exist.
Instead, the show’s production crew impressively transformed the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane into what looked like a 4* hotel, where the couple’s room just happened to open up on to the stage.
While her reaction is almost a good enough video on its own, her performance is really something else.
