John Enright has posted this video of himself back when he was 12-years-old and on a trip to Brussels, and it is guaranteed to transport you back to your own youth.
The Dublin man found the old footage and shared it to YouTube, his sheer perseverance and good humour as he struggles on the ice bringing back too many memories of Phibsborough’s Silver Skate ice rink (Ireland’s only ice rink at the time) in the 1980s.
The horror. The horror.
John, not to mention this writer, not to mention tens of thousands of Irish kids, never stood a chance.
Still, we salute him for not losing heart. He is our hero.
