There was a MASSIVE increase in searches for all of these Irish terms on Pornhub on St. Patrick’s Day

People sure do like their leprechauns.

People all over the world like to make a connection with Ireland in the days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day and the day itself. Disturbingly enough, that also includes people accessing Pornhub, which, if 2016 is anything to go by, would have seen a huge spike in searches for particular Irish terms on St. Patrick’s Day, 2017. According to Pornhub insights, searches for “leprechaun” on March 17, 2016 increased by a staggering 8825% and, before you ask, although leprechauns don't exist, leprechaun porn does exist on Pornhub. Searches for “shamrock”, meanwhile, saw an increase of 7755%, followed by St Patrick’s Day at 6207% and Saint Patrick at 5116%. Many of the top search increases were related to Ireland, with a 1644% increased interest in “Irish anal”, 1455% for “Irish cougar”, 1253% for “Irish creampie” and 866% for “Irish Lesbians”. Linking St. Patrick’s Day with alcohol consumption might be a (quite accurate) stereotype, but Pornhub Insights also showed a particular increase in misspelled terms on March 17. On average, for example, “Lesbian” misspellings increase by 20%, especially those of the “lebsian” variety. Cartoon is mistaken for “carton” 17% more than normal, MILF becomes “mifl” 19% more often, and Step Mom is searched 29% more often as “etep mom”. Fortunately for people guilty of such spelling errors, Pornhub’s auto-correct feature is there to guide them in the right direction.
