We’ve introduced a theme this week.
As we had been hinting at in previous editions of this quiz, we were running out of towns and villages in Ireland with which to test the geography knowledge of our readers. or at least towns and villages that weren’t too well-known or completely obscure.
Or, at the very least, we were running out of towns and villages that weren’t too well-known or completely obscure to an Irish person with reasonable knowledge of the highways and byways of this great country.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to introduce a theme this week, with all 20 towns and villages mentioned having been a winner of a Tidy Towns award since it was introduced in 1958.
Since 2002, the awards have been extended to a variety of different categories and all winners, not just the winners of the overall award, are eligible for inclusion here.
