It’s official: Irish people are glued to their mobile phones

Do people talk to each other anymore?

Do people talk to each other anymore?

Smartphones have undoubtedly made our lives easier but much like the rise of Skynet in the Terminator films, you have to ask, when did we all become slaves to A.I?

A recent survey of 1,000 Irish people was conducted by iD, Ireland’s newest mobile operator, and it revealed that one in ten Irish people check their mobile phone a whopping 160 times a day.

My own opinion here but if anyone does this in your company, without apologising or asking for permission, then you can smack them over the head.

The research also found that Irish people average check their phone an average of 40 times per day, with one in ten checking their mobile every 10 minutes.

They must be very popular or else they have the attention span of a pigeon chasing some tinfoil.

The survey, conducted by Ignite Research, also discovered that 56 per cent of the nation have used their phones in public toilets while one in three 18-24 year olds have used their phone in mass.

There was some other proof that humanity is becoming incredibly narcissistic image conscious because 50% of those aged 18-24 will have taken a selfie in the last 24 hours.

That’s it, I’m joining the Amish community. They let you watch Netflix though, right?
