WATCH: This Jack Russell terrier at Crufts will immediately make your day 87% better

Michael Lanigan

Clearly, the judges’ verdict was at the front of his mind.

Crufts Dog Show tends not to have that many stand-out moments, largely because there is nothing that exciting about a pedigree pooches behaving well.

In 2017 however, a five year old rescue Jack Russell terrier went viral after he got way too excited during an agility race and ran off into the crowd.

The chaotic attempt, which saw him complete the whole course in the wrong order didn’t win him any medals. Far from it.

He did however, shoot to global fame as the video got 22 million hits on YouTube.

If ever there was the definition of a happy dog, it had to be Olly. Sure, he got everything wrong and fell flat on his face at one point, but damn it, he did it with a smile. He didn’t care… or understand.

The great news is that he returned in 2018, competing again in the rescue dog agility race, and this time he’s no better…

Or so we were led to believe.

Led by his trainer Karen Parker from the Blue Cross, it was a delight to see him selectively weave between a line of bars, before running in and out of the tunnel over and over again.

“I don’t know if she’s trained him,” laughs the commentator as we all watch this dog play by his own rules. “I’ve no idea where they are on the course.”

It is only towards the very end, when reviewing a replay that it becomes apparent Olly might be the greatest troll to visit Crufts as he runs off into the crowd again.

“Oh he’s repeated what he did last year precisely,” roars the commentator.

As it turns out, Olly is good at being bad. That dog can work a crowd.

Suddenly the adorable pup isn’t cute at all. He’s terrifying.

Basically, he’s retelling the story of Boris Johnson’s rise to power.
