James Franco says he has learned his lesson after flirting with a 17-year-old British girl on Instagram.
Lucy Clode from Dollar in Clackmananshire posted images of the actor outside a Broadway theatre and he later sent her messages asking her age, whether she had a boyfriend and where she was staying.
Lucy, in New York as part of her 18th birthday present, turned Franco down.
The 35-year-old actor said “I learned my lesson.
“It’s the way that people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned, I guess because I’m new to it, is you don’t know who’s on the other end.
“When you meet in person you get a feel for them, you don’t know who you’re talking to,” he added.
Franco says it’s harder to meet people as a celebrity.
“Unfortunately in my position, not only do I have to go through the embarrassing rituals of meeting someone, but if I do that, then it gets published for the world so it’s doubly embarrassing.”
