Jarlath Regan talks about how he’s donating a kidney to his brother

Tony Cuddihy

Comedian and host of the massively popular ‘Irishman Abroad’ podcast talks to 2fm about how he’s donating a kidney to his brother next year.

Jarlath Regan has told 2fm’s Eoghan McDermott how he will be donating a kidney to his brother early next year.

Regan is currently performing his show Arseways at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but his long-term plan includes a hospital visit to donate an organ to his brother.

Jarlath’s brother, due to a misdiagnosis of health problems in his youth, needs a kidney transplant.

Regan talks about the difficulties around the situation, and how families can frequently fall out over the subject of organ donation, but his brother may now have 20 or 30 years to live as opposed to the five he may have survived without Jarlath’s intervention.
