JOE event guide: 6 things to do this weekend

JOE

Let’s make this weekend great.

With thanks to Vevo GO Shows sponsored by Captain Morgan, we’re going through the country’s event pages and bringing you the best of what’s happening this weekend.

There’ll be no more saying “there’s nothing to do,” because these great events are sure to keep you satisfied.

Vevo GO Shows sponsored by Captain Morgan brings you Kodaline in Bremore Castle, Balbriggan, Saturday

One of Ireland’s finest live bands will be making their way to Balbriggan this Saturday. This relatively intimate setting is the perfect place to see a band that are used to far bigger venues. Find out how you can win tickets here.

Go along and you will not be disappointed.

Let us remind you just how great these guys are…

Nina Conti in Vicar Street, Friday

Conti has breathed new life back into the art of ventriloquism and we bet you didn’t even see her mouth moving while she did it.

Crowd interaction can grow tiresome at comedy gigs, but not the way this lady does it. Go along for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Marc O’Reilly in Dolans, Limerick, Saturday

Marc O’Reilly’s album Human Herdings is one of the finest we have heard in recent times and the Sunday Sessions he did with us a few weeks ago was absolutely brilliant. He visits Limerick this Saturday and it’s definitely a gig you do not want to miss.

Open Mic Night in The Roisín Dubh Galway, Sunday

If you fancy performing yourself this weekend, then the Roisín in Galway is the place for you. In recent years this slot has earned a reputation as one of Ireland’s best open mic nights and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the west.
