A landslide.

Earlier on today we reported that many prominent Irish physicians had signed a letter to Amnesty International, advocating for the decriminalisation of abortion.

As the law stands in Ireland, some doctors believe that it is unclear at what point they are legally allowed to perform an abortion. Breaking this law can carry a penalty of 14 years in prison.

Liam Neeson has already added his voice to the ‘Repeal The 8th’ campaign in this ad.

We asked our readers whether or not they would support the decriminalisation of abortion in Ireland – and the response was overwhelmingly in favour of removing criminal penalties for abortion.

Of the 828 people who voted in our poll, 731 or 88% of those people would like to see abortion decriminalised. Only 97 voters went in the opposite direction, believing that abortion should remain decriminalised.
