JOE readers tell us their favourite Irish pubs (outside of Dublin)

Pop in for one

Pop in for one.

We all have our favourite pubs and while it might be your ultimate goal to visit every boozer in Ireland, it’s practically impossible to do so. Then again, maybe you’re filthy rich with plenty of time on your hands and you’ve got an iron liver. Good luck to you if that’s the case!

A few days ago the JOE team told you all about their most beloved pubs in Ireland that aren’t located in Dublin and a lot of our very kind readers got in touch with us to share their own favourite spot.

Here are just some of the suggestions that we were given.

Dick Mac's

Dick Macs in Dingle was a very popular shout with our readers, Fiona Wyse and Aidan Carroll are just two of the people that are urging us to drop in for a pint while Eddie Kavanagh reckons that the hospitality, craic and character at Killeens Village Tavern, Co. Offaly makes it an essential place for a drink also.

Staying in the Midlands and Emmet Lynch is adamant that Hugh Lynch’s Bar, Tullamore is a must visit while Eddie Devane is a fan of the nearby Bob’s Bar in Durrow, Laois.

Declan Twomey says that The Beach Bar in Aughris Head, Sligo deserves a special a mention due to its great menu and beautiful location. There was also a lot of love for Shoot The Crows, another spot in the Yeats County.

Niall Mac Suain is a big fan of the Harbour Bar in Bray while Liam Kennedy thinks that the strong GAA appeal of The County Bar, Thurles makes it an essential place to visit.

We had so many suggestions from all of our readers and here are just a few more that were sent into us. Thanks for all of your kind tips and if you’ve got any more then please let us know.
