That’s right folks, Father’s Day is fast approaching so here are five great ideas to help you buy the perfect present…

Zorbing

The perfect adrenaline fix for your Dad… plus we’re sure that you’ll be invited along too. And, if you’re lucky, you may even get the chance to push him down the hill as he looks like a hilarious human hamster, hurtling his way to happiness.

zorbing3

This excellent extreme sport has, year after year, continued to grow in popularity and is one that is readily available across the country. For more information you can visit ExtremeSports.ie.

And if your Dad’s a little bit nervous about taking part, tell him not to worry because zorbing in Ireland boasts a 100% percent safety record. Now, we’re no math scientists here at JOE HQ, but we’re pretty sure that’s a decent statistic.

A Game Of Thrones – the novel

Like JOE’s dad, we’re sure that your own proud papa is a big fan of the hugely-enjoyable HBO series, Game Of Thrones.

We’re also sure that’s because it’s got gigantic fire-breathing dragons in it, but it may additionally have something to do with the fact that the stories about the fine (and not-so-fine) people of Westeros are packed full of intrigue, mystery and a whole lot of heads-on-spikes fun.

game of thrones book

What better accompaniment to your father’s TV viewing than getting him the boxset of books in George R. R. Martin’s series, A Song Of Fire And Ice. So the next time your sister sticks on the Fair City omnibus and refuses to let your Dad watch his favourite new show, he’ll still be able to get his Game Of Thrones fix by sticking his head in the brilliant book you bought him.

What a great child you are. Better than your sister anyway.

The boxset is available to purchase here.

Breaking Bad Heisenberg Cufflinks

Sticking with the TV theme, these Breaking Bad cufflinks featuring Heisenberg’s distinctive head and pork pie hat will guarantee that any suit that your Dad wears will automatically be improved immeasurably.

They don’t come much cooler than Bryan Cranston himself so, by wearing these awesome accessories, your father will be in good company as it’s rumoured that the star himself likes to wear them when he’s out and about.

Just make sure your father doesn’t go full Heisenberg of course and decide to become the kingpin of the country’s largest drug empire.

L’Oreal Paris Vitalift 5 Moisturiser

We might not want to admit it, but keeping old father time at bay is something all us men are conscious of these days. And the biggest way we age ourselves is with sun damage. Yes, we know Ireland is not the sunniest place in the world but as the recent awareness campaign by the Department of Health has shown, UV rays are still beating down on us and everyone needs to do more to protect themselves.

That’s where a moisturiser with a built in SPF is just the ticket. L’Oréal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 Moisturiser is a complete anti-ageing moisturiser with SPF which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Your skin will feel firmer and most importantly, you will be putting off the ageing process for a wee while longer.

Vitalift 5 Out of Pack copy

Available in all good retailers for RSP €19.99, this is the perfect gift for any man in your life.

Batman Snuggie

Spider-Man, Superman and the Incredible Hulk are all amazing superheroes but, here at JOE HQ, our absolute favourite hero is most definitely Batman. Apart from our Dad of course…

batman snuggie

This great gift means that your father will be able to feel just like the Dark Knight as he, very comfortably, watches old episodes of Adam West running around as the Caped Crusader and, as a bonus, you’ll be able to wear it in secret when your Dad is out of the house…

Unfortunately though, the Batmobile’s not included. Maybe next year Dad, yeah? Click here for more info.
