In case you didn’t know, there’s a pretty huge fashion festival going on in Dublin this weekend, so here’s JOE’s guide to the best events

From designer shows to tech gadgets from the lads at Samsung, there’s plenty going on at the Dublin Fashion Festival this year, and the face of the festival, the lovely Laura Whitmore, is in town to launch the whole thing.

The best event from the point of view of the lads is Arnotts’ Man About Town event on Saturday, which starts at 12pm. If you pop along you’ll catch an introduction to the Arnotts AW13 menswear collection across all of men’s fashion, fragrance and grooming. There will be a Samsung play table and a Samsung Galaxy S4 giveaway for one lucky shopper who heads to the event, so it’s probably worth the trip for that alone.

There are going to be street fashion shows on Grafton Street and Henry Street on Friday, there’s also a fantastic event where the steps of the Powerscourt Centre will be transformed into a catwalk for the Creative Quarter Fashion Show at 7.30 pm (hopefully the weather holds up!), and you can head along to the Jervis Shopping Centre at 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturday to get a style workshop from Brendan Courtney to learn how to up your game.

On Sunday, head along to the Ilac Centre to get some lovely free grub as the Food Glorious Food event will be celebrating the Fashion Festival with some delicious treats.

All in all, with over 250 bars, cafes and retailers taking part In this year’s festival, the fourth ever edition of the event, and drawing some attention to the vibrant and social fashion scene here in Dublin.

You can check out the guide to the events here with a full listing of everything that’s going on, and with it being sponsored by Samsung, there will be a few bits of tech here and there to keep us entertained too. Between all the events and shows, there’s going to be a great buzz around town for the weekend, so head out there and get involved, and you can spruce up your autumn/winter wardrobe while you’re at it.
