JOE’s InstaReview: Opel Insignia

The ‘other’ German brands better watch their backs...

Oisin Collins

We recently tested one seriously slick and luxurious German car (and no, it wasn’t a BMW, Mercedes-Benz or an Audi).

Welcome to JOE’s first InstaReview where we show you what’s in JOE’s drive this week via the medium of social media.

This week, we’re taking a look at the exceptionally classy Opel Insignia 2.0L petrol. At €44,695 it isn’t cheap, but this car in particular is worth every penny.

The looks…

The engine…

The interior…

The mini challenge…

The verdict…

We loved it. However, like we said above, €44,695 is a lot of money for a motor, especially when you consider the entry level Insignia is almost €20,000 cheaper.

In fairness to Opel, you do get a lot of bang for your buck and when you sit inside an Insignia that has been kitted out with all the bells and whistles you instantly feel more important.

The cream leather seats and wooden dashboard trim makes you feel comfortable at the wheel and from a looks perspective our Insignia was simply stunning.

A few of the JOE’s sat into the Insignia and for a lot of them, their first reaction was ‘Wow… This is an Opel?’. So well done Opel, you’re obviously doing something right.
