Want to know the best things to do on a sunny weekend in Ireland? JOE.ie and Anthisan are here to help you out… The weather is unreal, what are you waiting for?

As Irish summers go, we’re doing pretty well in 2014. There’s been lots of sunshine on our beautiful island over the past few weeks and you know those times when it’s sunny and you can figure out what to do, well JOE, along with Anthisan, are here to help.

We give you the top five things for you to do in Ireland on a sunny weekend.

Golf

Ireland is considered one of the best locations for golf in the whole world. We are home to some of the most amazing links and parkland courses so we need to get out there and experience them.

The Irish Open - Day Four

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a Rory McIlroy, there’s plenty of high quality courses like Fota Island, Ballybunion, Lahinch, Adare Manor, Portmarnock and the K-Club but if you’re only starting out (a hacker) like JOE, there are plenty of nine-hole courses dotted around the place.

Barbecue

When the sun is out Irish people love to show our more European side by dining al fresco. We think we love doing it because it’s such a rare opportunity considering the unpredictable climate so if you get a chance, do it.

Corey Mintz BBQ

JOE likes to stay away from open flames but usually the man of the house, the father, will step up to the grill and show us how good he is at cooking meat. God love him, he really loves it and there’s nothing better than a few barbecued burgers on a sunny day.

Beach

We are very lucky to be living in Ireland because everyone in the country is no further than two hours away from a decent beach, it is that small of a country.

Tour of California - Stage 2

Grab your towel, water, football and suncream, we’re Irish lads we need to wear suncream, and head off to your closest beach for the day. We advise picking up some fish and chips on the way home and you’ll be sorted.

Music

JOE loves a good music festival and there’s so many on during the summer, we think there’s some sort of music festival on ever weekend during the next few months.

Electric Picnic 2012 - Day 1

There’s the big ones like Electric Picnic, Longitude and Indiependence but there’s loads of smaller local events on as well, you’ll find a lot of details here. So get your tent and your sleeping bag, round up a few buddies and head to a festival near you, it’s always such good craic.

Travel

We know that we are biased but lads we have one of the most beautiful countries in the world and for some reason we don’t get to see enough of it. JOE isn’t sure if it’s laziness or the mind-frame of “Ah sure, we can go there anytime” but we want to get to see more of our country this summer.

Cumenoole Beach

There’s so much to see – the Ring of Kerry, Kinsale, Galway, Bundoran, Giant’s Causeway, Guinness Brewery, Newgrange or the sunny South East. Let’s all see more of Ireland this summer.

DON’T LET THE BUGS BITE THIS SUMMER IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Whether you are planning a summer holiday in Ireland or further afield, Anthisan Cream is a summer first aid essential, which can provide symptomatic relief of skin reaction caused by insect stings, insect bites and nettle rash and has been used for over 50 years.
