Coffee, whiskey and music, sounds like a pretty perfect evening in

JOE

Coffee, whiskey and music, sounds like a pretty perfect evening in.

Coffee Connoisseur

Like coffee? Well with a name like JOE you can be sure do so the Robert Roberts Coffee Connoisseur Club is a real treat for us. Every six weeks they will send you out a new blend, and a whole year’s worth of caffeine-packed goodness can be yours for just €49.

The first was dispatched last week so we have been enjoying the Colombia Musicas blend (see below). Each delivery comes with expert tasting notes from master blender Garath Scully so you know what to look out for and by the end of the year you should be wise in the ways of coffee from all over the globe.

Available as roasted beans or ground, based on the first delivery we are in for an exciting and really interesting year of coffee to enjoy, far away from the more standard blends available in the supermarket. For more on the Club, just click here.

Teeling Whiskey

In our old age, JOE is getting all fancy. We’ve found ourselves getting accessories for making cocktails and also enjoying just sitting down and appreciating a good drink on its own. Recently, we got the chance to try a bit of Teeling Whiskey’s small batch Irish whiskey, and it didn’t disappoint.

It’s got a sweet flavour with a hint of vanilla and fruit in there, so can be enjoyed in a glass on its own, or alternatively if you fancy a cocktail that would work well with this, then you can try an Old Fashioned. Normally they use bourbon or rye, but since this whiskey is quite sweet anyway, it should work well.

UE Boom Mini

Yes, we know we talk about Wireless speakers all the time, and honestly we’re beginning to think that we have a bit of a problem on that front, but boy howdy do we lust after these pieces of kit. The latest release from Logitech/Ultimate Ears is the Boom Mini, which promises to pack a bit of a punch.

UE Mini Boom

When we got our hands on the UE Boom a few weeks back, we absolutely loved it, and even though it was already very portable, the new mini sounds like it will be even easier to move about the house to listen to your top tunes and podcasts. The battery lasts about ten hours, it’s a simple bluetooth connection and you can get it in a range of colours orange, purple, red, yellow and black, for an RRP of about €99.
