Josh Brolin posts intense work-out video in preparation for Deadpool 2

Ryan Reynolds was 38 years old when he finally landed his big blockbuster champion Deadpool, but his new co-star is about to put him to shame.

49-year-old Josh Brolin will take on the role of Cable for the sequel, and he posted an image a few days ago with his son, in which he is showing off his new Cable-esque haircut and promptly sent fanboys and fangirls into a frenzy.

For those not in the know, and according to the comics at least, Cable is Deadpools BFF (with the last F here standing for Frenemy). He is the son of Cyclops and the clone of Jean Grey, and has been sent back to the present from a potential future time-line where he has was one of the best warriors on the planet.

How much of that they’ll keep for the movie still isn’t clear, but what is clear is that Brolin is definitely getting beefcake’d out for the part:

So on top of good/bad guy duty in Deadpool 2, Brolin is also playing the big-bad guy Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, having appeared in several of the Marvel movies already, but doing little more than sitting on his big space throne and getting mad when his underlings fail to take over the Earth.

And just in case there was any doubt about just how cool Brolin actually is, he went along to an 80’s themed birthday party as his own character from The Goonies. What. A. Ledge.
