Here are just some of the highlights taking place during Dublin Pride

June is World Pride Month, and Dublin will be celebrating the LGBTQ community from 16 to 24 of June.

There is a huge amount of events taking place in the city over the week-and-a-bit, and you can check out the full line-up here, but if you're looking for some pointers in what to do to celebrate Pride in the capital, check out our highlights list below.

Some of the events are free to attend, and some are ticketed and may be close to selling out already, so make sure you do your research before setting off on your celebrations!

Fri 16 - Pantibar - GCN Relaunch Party

Ireland's Gay Community Network magazine and website are getting a bit of a makeover after nearly three decades of reporting and commenting on the LGBTQ world. Party gets started at 6pm.

Sun 18 - The George - Queer Walking Tour Of Dublin

A staple of the Dublin Pride celebrations, you get to take part on a walking tour of the city and get an education on the queer history of the capital. Kicks off at 2pm.

Mon 19 - The George - Live performance by Lucy Spraggan

Competing in the 2012 X-Factor, Lucy was a front-runner for potentially winning the show, but eventually dropped out when she was too ill to compete. She came back fighting though, and has recently released album number 4. She'll take to the stage from 11pm.

Wed 21 - Cafe En Seine - Morning Gloryville Dance Rave

Looking to start your day in a different way? Head to Dawson Street to take part in an alcohol-free rave that will have you bouncing and ready to enjoy the rest of your day. The dancing begins, unbelievably, at 6.30 in the AM!

Wed 21 - Street66 - Purple Grain Lager Tasting

Formerly The Front Lounge, Street66 on Parliament Street have developed their own lager specifically for Dublin Pride 2017. Your tastebuds can get a mouthful from 12 midday.

Sat 24 - St. Stephen's Green - Pride Parade

Taking on a new route, with assembly kicking off at 12 from St. Stephen's Green, the parade will get moving at 2pm and make it's way to Smithfield Square. Guest speakers and artists will be present to make sure the day kicks off with a bang.

Sat 24 - Smithfield Square - Official Dublin Pride After Party

Once the parade has settled down, special guests and performers will take over the stage set up in the centre of Smithfield Square and party pretty much until the sun goes down.

Sat 24 - Pantibar - Pride Block Party

This fully-licensed street party is usually a must-see, with music pumping and performances happening all day and all night, kicking off around 2pm.

Sat 24 - The George - Pride Saturday

Kicks off at 3pm and goes on until late in the a.m. the next morning, with DJs blaring the tunes until your feet can't take anymore.

Sat 24 - Tivoli - Mother Pride Block Party

Back-to-back DJs, plus the arrival of Eurovision winner Loreen ("Euuuuuppppphoooooria!"), the Mother block-party has massive indoor and outdoors bars, hugely popular acts performing all night, and.... a glitter cannon! Party starts at 4pm.

Sat 24 - Odessa - All Day Pride Social

Every floor will be giving different genres of music, so if you're not feeling this classic pop number, you can run upstairs and get your trance on. Goes on until dawn (this may or may not be hyperbole), fun begins at 5pm.

Sat 24 - Street66 - Pride @ Street66

A live tribute act to Morrissey, plus some of their resident DJs, everything gets going here from 6pm, and will continue passed midnight when the Dublin Bear Pride celebrations kick off.

Sun 25 - The George - Pride Bingo with Shirley Temple Bar

Tradition for those suffering with Pride Hangover, Shirley and her girls kick off the night with most fun game of bingo in the city (if not the world!), before the DJs take over and make sure your Pride week ends on a high note. The fun begins at 9pm... presuming you're not exhausted by then!
