CCTV cameras managed to capture the moment a €320,000 Lamborghini Aventador was split in half following a collision with a fairly normal looking car.

The collision occurred on a quiet residential street in Brooklyn last weekend and when the image above first emerged it left many people scratching their heads. How in the name of God could a car end up split in half like that, let alone a €320,000 supercar?

Well, the video below shows us exactly what happened…

According to police reports, witnesses said the Lamborghini was “approaching at a high rate of speed”.

In fairness it’s hard to tell from the video alone whether the Lambo driver was doing over the limit or not, but that was still no reason for the driver of the saloon to attempt to cut in front of the supercar.

At least the Lamborghini’s safety structure did its job by staying intact and breaking away from the rest of the car, much like the safety pod in an F1 car would (hence the ‘split in two’ look).
