Lesbian penguins in Dingle. What else do we need to say?

There are all sorts of aquatic shenanigans going on down in the Kingdom.

Lesbian penguins, far from being the next feature from the makers of ‘Sharknado’ or ‘Snakes On A Plane,’ are a real thing and can be found at Dingle Oceanworld in County Kerry.

Two female penguins have become rather accustomed to each other and are said to be in love.

Missy and Penelope are two of a group of 12 Gentoo penguins at the aquarium.

Kate Hall, the head penguin keeper, told the Irish Examiner that same sex couples are not uncommon among penguins but that it’s normally two males that pair up.

“It’s definitely not an unusual occurrence although this time it’s two females,” Hall said.

“The thing penguins do to show they like each other is they bow to each other and they are doing that.

“When they come into breeding season, they do it to the penguin of their choice and it reinforces the bond between them. It is very sweet to watch.”
