Liev Schreiber is rumoured to be involved in discussions to play the lead in a new movie about the life of Chris Benoit

You’ll recognise Schreiber no doubt from his role as Sabretooth in the last Wolverine flick, or perhaps you might have caught him in the new series Ray Donovan, but he seems like a decent choice to play the late wrestling superstar, provided he can pack on a huge amount of neck muscle.

Tropfest New York 2013 In Brooklyn's Prospect Park On June 22nd

The movie will cover all of Benoit’s life from the start of his wrestling career to what will no doubt be a controversial portrayal of the events surrounding his death, but it seems that the script has already been written, and according to TWNPNews.com the project will be underway at some stage in the near future.

Liam Neeson recently denied reports that he is in talks to play WWE owner Vince McMahon, but seeing how the company has also more or less washed its hands of the whole story, we can’t imagine them being very happy should the movie go ahead.

Still, we’d be intrigued to see how the movie would play out, and how they would portray those fateful final days of Benoit’s life.
