Like hot tubs and cinema? Here’s the hot tub cinema so…..

Fed up going to the cinema fully clothed and having to sit on a boring, but ultimately comfortable seat? Step right up so and ditch those clothes you were wearing and experience cinema whilst sat in a hot tub.

Julie Andrews (pic below) once crooned ‘these are a few of my favourite things…’ and hot tubs and going to the cinema are two of our favourite things. What’s not to love? A company in the UK have started putting on hot tub cinema nights and so far they have proved to be an unqualified success. It’s a travelling business and has been all over the UK as well as making an appearance in Ibiza this summer.

The 40th Anniversary & DVD Release "The Sound of Music"

It’s last stop was in Bristol and every single night was booked out. We are not surprised to be honest. JOE remembers watching Blind Date on the telly of a Saturday night from the bath with the help of carefully placed mirrors and though not quite the same thing, it did give us a sense of the whole hot water and visuals being a marriage made in heaven. We are not the only ones impressed with the concept:

Okay, it may not be the ideal location for a first date and yes the popcorn could get soggy, but we here in JOE are all over this concept and are anxiously awaiting news of the first Irish hot tub cinema night. The first screening night should obviously be Hot Tub Time Machine and most definitely not The Sound of Music.
