Lillie's Bordello

It’s the end of an era for Lillie’s Bordello.

Lillie’s Bordello, one of the most iconic nightclubs in Dublin and Ireland, will close its doors for good in January 2019.

On Friday, it was confirmed that the nightclub, located on Grafton Street in Dublin, will close for good on 19 January 2019, giving revellers the chance to give it a fitting send off this Christmas.

Opened in the early 1990s, Lillie’s quickly established itself as the go-to destination for domestic and international celebrities, with the likes of Rihanna, Julia Roberts, David Hasselhoff, Mick Jagger, Paris Hilton and Enrique Iglesias gracing the dancefloor over the years.

Bono even chose it as the venue to celebrate his 46th birthday back in 1982 2006.

The Porterhouse Group, which owns Lillie’s and a number of venues in Dublin, London and New York, has confirmed that the curtain will fall for good on the famous nightclub in January of next year, although the group says it has exciting plans coming down the tracks which will be revealed in the spring of 2019.

Over the next few weeks until it closes its doors for good, Lillie’s is asking patrons to relive some of their favourite nights out at the venue down through the years by posting photos from bygone years on the nightclub’s Facebook page.

Farewell Lillie’s, we hardly knew ye.
