Ireland’s first ever ‘Lost Luggage Auction’ to take place in Kildare next week

A happy ending after a worst case (geddit?) scenario...

Rory Cashin

A potential happy ending to a worst case (no pun intended) scenario.

If you’ve ever had it happen to you, then you already know how terrible this can be.

Arriving in a foreign country, in the airport, waiting on your bags to arrive when everyone else has already left with theirs.

Then someone who works there tells you the bad news, the bags have been delivered to another destination, thanks to some kind of mix-up that can often feel like the universe has singled you out specifically.

It can be enough to completely derail your nice and relaxing holiday, but now it looks like there may be some (long delayed) pay off to this scientifically proven event that shows bad luck does in fact exist.

As per the Facebook post on the event:

Paul Cooke Auctions have been instructed to sell lost luggage and items from a Trans Atlantic airport in Europe.

We will be selling UN-OPENED suitcases with a small hint of what will be inside.

Lots to include: iPhone 4’s, 5’s, 6’s and 7’s, iPads of all generations, iMac, Samsungs, Sonys, Windows, Large Selection of other ANDROID Phones, Cameras, Designer Clothes, Designer Handbags, Gold Rings, Laptops, SURPRISE LOTS, Kindles, Music Players, Bose Headphones, Portable Gaming Devices, Samsung/Android Tablets, Household Furniture, New Couches, Antique Prams, Sunroom Furniture, Painting, Pianos, Chandeliers ALL JUST TOO BE SOLD!!

So there you have it.

You could be reunited with your own long lost bag, or you could give a new bag and all of the contents within a new home.

The auction will be taking place on Thursday 3 August but you can view the items in advance on Wednesday 2 August from 9am to 6pm.
